COSMIC CHRISTMAS MACHINE AND TRIPPY NEW YEAR  If 2010 was full of "Ups and downs", 2011 was in the same mood... and maybe more! The year seemed to start well, with the Kosmische Kraut Maschine sessions at NoHype Studio but Majnun had health problems to deal with. He wasn't able to play his part in the band for several months. So, our kind-of-krautrock-tribute album and gigs had to be shelved. During this forced break, I worked on several releases : a solo album, a collaboration with musicians from 70's Book of AM folk project (the two projects are unfinished, still working on it), and I started to write and record material with oG for an album called (The Woman Who Took) A Flying Leap Over The Fence. In January, oG gave me demos of thirty songs he wrote with only one instruction: "Do what you want". The tracks were very inspiring and, while I listened to them, I had the vision of a concept. I wrote the lyrics (from the point of view of a narrator, lost in a dream), the vocals and created some instrumental parts. oG was really excited with my new version of his demos. He completed a couple of tracks and booked the studio. The next month was dedicated to the rehearsals. oG worked with the drummer and with me to refine songs. The sessions of (The Woman Who Took) A Flying Leap Over The Fence began the 26th March and ended the 5th August, marked by the return of Majnun. He was back in a really good shape. He took over for me, recorded with oG lead guitars and finished the project with us. (The Woman Who Took) A Flying Leap Over The Fence will be very different from our previous releases, notably because oG and Cosmic Trip Machine visions are melted into one. 2011 ended with good news. Since the 7th December, Vampyros Roussos have been reissued on vinyl (black and limited colored edition plus 7 inch), distributed by Nasoni Records. Don't miss this ultimate version full of surprises with a really groovy packaging and complete sessions notes! And for 2012? oG and Cosmic Trip Machine's (The Woman Who Took) A Flying Leap Over The Fence will be finished soon and be sure we'll tell you more about it as soon as possible here. After that, the band will be heading back into the studio to finish the Kosmische Kraut Maschine album and record the next one which will be completed by the end of 2012 too - we're actually working on it with a new drummer. Of course, we'll start a tour during 2012 to promote this new project on stage. It will be great to see you in the pit again!
